Botswana 2014
Lions, lions, lions .....
this year we traveled to Botswana again - and it was again adventurously beautiful! As the title suggests, we saw more lions than ever before - 20 adult animals in different places in one day alone. We experienced thunderstorms and storms in the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, peace and loneliness in the Mabuasehube, big cats in the Central Kalahari, plus endless expanse and dreamy starry skies, deep sand and getting stuck in Khumaga, herds of elephants in the Moremi, breakdowns at the broken Third Bridge, buffalo tear with 8 lions in Savuti, the wonderful Chobe NP, dinner at the illuminated waterhole of Elefant Sands, wonderful scenery in the Tuli Block and lions to cuddle in the Lion Park Johannesburg. For the first time, we had a night camera with us to see who was sneaking around our tent at night. From mice to jackals and civet cats to hyenas and even a lion was on the camera!
We have seen and experienced so much! The smells and animal voices will be with us forever. With Africans, a smile is always returned. Helpfulness is very important, it is so nice to get to know other cultures!
Of course I brought a lot of photos with me again, but be careful, you could also get infected with the Africa virus :-)
